All aspects of the production process are undertaken on site. Our own nursery produces top quality plantlets, the first stage of producing a top quality product.

At Sundale Farm we endever to maintain a year round supply of broccoli, fresh from the field. A new batch of plants is transplanted each week to maintain a regular supply.

All of our farms have water supplies at volumes suitable for irrigation, with resource consents in place so crop health, and therefore product quality, can be maintained. Full hydration of greens crops is the first and most important step in producing top quality heads with a long shelf life.

Harvesting Broccoli is a labour intensive task. At Sundale Farm our innovative team has designed harvest aids and remote operated tractors to make what is a tough job a little easier. A six wheel drive harvesting platform means the broccoli heads can be cut at their prime, whatever the weather.

Ice packing is what we specialise in! Once a stem has been cut the quality clock starts ticking down! It is of the utmost importance to quality and shelf life that we remove field heat from the product as soon as possible. At Sundale Farm we have designed slurry icing and hydro cooling systems that are very effective at achieving this goal. All ice making water is triple filtered - and slurry water is filtered and treated to maintain our quality standards long after the product leaves the farm.
